Building the House
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs can be thought of as a house that represents what motivates people. At the foundation are basic needs—food, water, and shelter—essential for survival. Once those are met, the next level focuses on safety, such as having a stable job and feeling secure. Above that are love and belonging needs, which include friendships and relationships. Next comes esteem, involving self-confidence and respect from others. At the top is self-actualization—reaching your full potential and finding purpose in life. In this way, people build their “house of needs,” starting with the basics and progressing toward higher goals. To discover modules that meet your family's needs, click the icons below.
